Kayak fishing off in westbroke/ Clinton area? Where and how?
Message:
Hi, planning on going yak fishing down out of clinton or westbroke area this weekend. Im undecided on where to go out of. Either hammenaset, clinton beach, clinton marina, westbroke town docks, or westbroke town beach, or if someone else has a better spot. Just want to go for anything that might be bitting right now: fluck, stripers, or blues. I wouldnt mind channel fishing in the clinton channel if thats whats suggested or i dont know if i should be heading out to open ocean right now. Was planning on using chunk bait and squid unless if i have a better suggestion. Thank you

Not familiar with the area but i would suggest you find a spot in some sand flats where the sand eels are hatching out. You will get big stripers in shallow water and theres a lot of small blues around. If you're going during the day throw metal spoons and poppers or at night use sluggos or live eels slowly retrieved up by the beach. Look for fish breaking within 20' of the shoreline. Been getting keeper bass in knee deep water.

Have also been looking where to get out with the kayak to chase down stripers with the fly rod.
