Countryside Park 06/20

This morning, I tied new fluoro leaders on a few of my reels and respooled another with six pound test mono, and just had to run down to Countryside Park to get in a few casts. It was hot with full sun, so I stayed for only an hour. There was little to no wind. I could see schools of sunnies, a few yellow perch, a trout and some small largemouth bass in the clear but stained water. I was just about to leave when I decided to stop nibbling at the overhanging bushes and trees on the opposite shore, and throw a silver shallow shad Rapala SSR-7 as deeply into the shade as I could. I had decided to fish it like a popper, but a fish came up to take it less than a second after it hit the water: [img:773593f687]http://img811.imageshack.us/img811/5928/20110620countrysidepark.jpg[/img:773593f687] It was a nice little keeper largemouth bass. Whoo hoo!
