Almost threw in the pole

I'm 37 and haven’t fished since I was 13. I started about 2 months ago and tried to get out at least 2 or 3 times a week.
I was having no luck and was ready to give up when I decided to give some night fishing a try.
The first night I caught a small rock bass which got me pretty excited. I also caught a blue gill that night.
2 days later I decide to try it again with much better luck as you can see from the ear to ear grin.
After using a crank bait for a little while a nice guy Danny suggested using something topwater. On the 2nd cast with a rubber frog I caught this baby.
I have no clue as to weight or length, just that it scared the crap out of me initially.
I caught this in Waterbury, I haven’t seen too many reports on bass in Waterbury, but I think I did pretty well.
That night I caught 2 other bass and a pretty large catfish.
I let this one go.
This man won’t be throwing in the pole anytime soon.
