Subject:
Shore Fishing spots?
Message:
Can anybody offer some suggestions for good ponds/lakes within 45 minutes or so of the Milford area? I'm from PA but frequently travel to CT to visit family and I'm always looking for suggestions. I spend most time fishing Mondo ponds (with some success) because of its proximity to where I stay (and its great shore access, which I need). Any help you could offer would be much appreciated. BTW- this is a great forum. I wish something like this existed down here in the Philadelphia area where I live. Thanks.

Im not sure if meriden makes the cut for distance, but hanover pond has great shore access and lots of it!
The quality of bass in there is also above average. Most bass I have caught there have been over 2lbs and nice and fat.
Here are some of this years bass from hanover

I would say the Saugatuck Reservoir (you need a permit besides your license ), and I have not been there in a year but Lake Wintergreen has plenty of shor access.
