7/18 - Keeney Cove
Message:
Hit the cove today for about 45min at lunch. I was fishing from the road. The tide was headed out and the water was real low. I tied on a t-rigged senko because it was real weedy. Got a few nibbles from some panfish that couldn't swallow the hook. I pitched the worm into some weeds. I wasn't paying attention and got a small birdsnest. As I was clearing it I saw the line move. I reeled in the slack and set the hook on a decent 14" to 15" LMB. The hook was in deep so I looked in and saw the hook in its gut. I was like damn!! So I tried getting the hook by reaching in deep and pushing it out through the gills. To my surprise the hook slid right out. When I looked back in the fish's mouth there was an EWG still in its gut but turns out it wasn't mine. Couldn't get the other hook out so I just let him go. Sorry no pics because I was traveling light for a quick trip. Just 1 pole and 1 senko. It was a fun break from work.
