Silver Lake - 8/10
Message:
Went to Silver Lake in Berlin today from 2pm-630pm. It was hot and windy at times today. Water was super warm about 82 degrees. Trolled over towards the end the lake along the weeds and hit a sunfish...There were a handful of fish (my fish finder found some big ones) but no luck in that area. Made my way around the outside and my buddy caught a nice 14" LMB

This was caught on a rooster tail.
We started to go back towards the first island and we got a bunch of hits but they got away. I got a really strong hit (I think it was a pickerel) but it came off pretty quick.
I started using some horny toads and had one strike but lost it again. Went back to senko's and hit a smaller SMB.

Kind of a disapointing day epsecially since a handful of fish got away but at least we didnt get skunked! I'm on vacation this week so I am thinking of hitting somewhere different but not too far tomorrow and then Highland Lake Friday.

I've only been to Silver Lake twice and never found any bigger LMB. I was told that they hide under the heaviest weeds in the lake.
BTW, that's a LMB in your photo, not a SMB.

Hmmm. Yeah the picture might be deceiving I thought it was a smallmouth because the mouth didn't go past it's eye. It had a really short mouth. But now when I see in the picture the colors look more like a lmb. It put up a fight like a smallmouth!
