Hamburg Cove/CT River

Really wanted to get out to Black Point today but I cannot even explain how bad the water was. While going out there there were logs everywhere. I thought the Hurricane would clear up by now but it was very bad. The water was very murky. As we started to go out it was very choppy in the Sound and we had to turn around in fear of damaging a prop. We headed back but decided to just dock at Hamburg Cove and relax for a bit. My girlfriend and I threw in our poles. She came up with a 24" Catfish...this thing was mean. And 2 Eels. Wasnt really expecting to catch anything but bad day became decent. Everything was caught with sandworms on a 3oz. weight. That's pretty cool. I haven't caught any catfish in Connecticut yet, not even a bullhead. What kind of catfish is that, anyway?

Hi! I'd say, with 95% accuracy, that it's a Channel Cat ! Their heads always seem to be very big with wide mouths. SeaDog1
