Bantam 10-16

Rough day at Bantam today. Got there about 7:30am fished till about 2 with some friends. The worst part was how WINDY it was. We couldnt stay in spots and unfortunately my trolling motor is only a 45lb thrust. In addition to that, I scraped my motor prop trying to get out of a ditch. The water was 60 degrees.
I launched at the White Memorial Marina and when I got back to pay I noticed that no one was there? No charge? Anyone know about this? This is my first year at Bantam and I wasnt sure if there was no fee after Columbus Day like some other places.
Anyways handful of LMB bass and a tiny Yellow Perch between us all. Lunker of the day was my 15", 2lb (right on the nose) LMB. We used pretty much every type of bait. Most fish were caught on Wacky Rigged 5" senkos in White and Red.

Yeah, Bantam Lake is tough in the wind.
We weren't in very deep water in Keeney Cove, but the six or so fish that my finder marked were 3-1/2 to 4-1/2 feet deep. That's part of the reason why I tried to retrieve my spinnerbait at that depth today.

yea bantam gets really windy, since i have been fishing there for a while i can tell you to go later during the day like right before it gets dark for no wind. you probably didn't have to pay because it was the off season for the camp or whatever and there's nobody they have to watch so they don't stay at the booth. i would launch at the "residents only" launch if you don't want o pay.
