what the hell do you have to do to get a picture on your profile --- i have tried it all!

Have you at least been able to find the "Avatar control panel"? Go to the "My CTFishTalk" tab and select "My Profile". The "Avatar control panel" will be at the bottom off the page. You can upload a photo from your computer there, but it has to meet the following limitation:

You need to shrink it down pretty good.
