So Marc and I finally got a chance to get out today, it's been some time and i'm sorry that you guys haven't seen more reports from me.
Fishing was overall slow with a small out-of-state ore bed that marc suggested turned up no leads, fish, bites, nibbles, or anything other than trees. Its been a while and I'm a little rusty but man... i needed a few more drinks before i hit the pond, at least when you see double you have 2x the chance of hitting the water. All in all a pretty quick journey there.

A limited view of some of the overhead branches that got me...

little bit of nature, at least we got a nice afternoon after all the rain.
We relocated to another orebed in lakeville (right on route 44) but before we could cast a line we were told to be prepared to have the cops after us as one of the shore owners was particularly vicious. Ooooh I'm from NYC, I come up here for nature, don't want anybody else on it kinda style. Even though we had public access, decided to up and move over to Hotchkiss Pond. Marc pulled in a 3 pounder on the first cast (not pictured, sorry), but that was it for there. Probably managed another round of lyme disease tho!
Moved again to a small private pond we fish from time to time that held a couple of 2.5 pounders, one for each, pictured below is marc's:

We managed to avoid the skunk, but thats the best that could be said about the entire outing.By far the best part of the evening was discovering the pond was running a twee bit low by ramming the 1 rock in the entire pond that was only 2 inches under the water. The look on marc's face was priceless as I was preparing to get real wet, real fast. We hit it dead on, had it been more off center, we both woulda been in the drink. In that pond I woulda been at the ER for some shots real quick after.
I've gotta get back in practice... Still, hopefully will have some more reports (with more success) soon!
Tight Lines.
also saw a green heron very briefly today (I believe at least), nothing special, but the first I've ever seen:

also saw a belted kingfisher, again not rare, but my first.
