Looking for my first Kayak. Suggestions?

After a year of fishing in CT im realizing the best fishing is hard to get off the shores. I think it may be time to consider a kayak. Not looking to spend too much since Ive never had a kayak before. Need something reliable that I can throw on the top of my car and is easy enough to carry so I can get it into spots. Any suggestions on the affordable range? Also, do you have to pay registration on Kayaks? Thanks, Les

You only need to regester a watecraft if it is motorized (either electric or gas). According to what you are looking for, registration wouldnt be needed.

I have the future beach trophy 126 like many people do on here. Don't get me wrong I am no expert on kayaks but for the price it gets the job done, and is made for fishing i.e has rod holders, comfy seat IMO, ample storage room. I got it at dicks sporting good for $250 and I am almost positive they still sell them. Just my $.02 Joe
