Hi, Well I went to West Hill, Farmington River, and Burr Pond from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM today. Nothing :!: -> Not so much as a nibble anywhere I went. Threw everything (spoons, spinners, bait, jigs) . Seems the fish all had "Lockjaw"! Sometimes it Happens  SeaDog1

How was the water? Was it murky from the recent rain?

Hi Phil, Actually no, all waters where clear, especially West Hill (really crystal clear -> have never seen it so clear). There really hasn't been much surface run-off (the land is sucking all moisture up like a sponge) so most waters are pretty clear up here in the NW corner. The big trouble is that many of the ponds and lakes that were drawn down for the winter are still way down. (Those with enough springs are filling very slowly.) If we don't get sufficient spring rains they'll most likely stay low. That could well cause problems for the fish to find spawning bed areas. All this warm Wx so early could also be an indicatior that we may be looking at a drought this summer -> Only time will tell. Making any Wx predictions this year has been about as certain as rolling 7-11 consistantly at the crap tables in Vegas! SeaDog1
