Hit that same small pond again just after 12pm Wednesday. Met site member Mikeyinstfd there. He stuck with soft plastics and also tried a popper while I stuck with Heddon Tiny Torpedos. For the 3 hours Mike was there, he caught 2 and lost a few with plenty of hits all on soft plastics. The Tiny Torpedos were getting plenty of attention from bass hiding in the bushes. I had more explosions than hook sets. Landed 5 up to 1 1/4 pound and lost 2. Later I headed over to the private pond. There I lost 2 with the Tiny Torpedo. Threw the 6cm Husky Jerk out there and caught a 1 1/2 pounder with it. Caught 2 more just over a pound with a 2" soft plastic worm rigged with 2 trout hooks. Later the last stop was a different small pond that I haven't hit yet. Lightly twitched a 5cm hot steel Rapala Original Floater on the surface and caught 3 dinky bass no bigger than 9". Hit the road just before 6pm.

your success each trip amazes me...the only time i used to have luck like you was before they dredged mckenzie reservoir...certain times of day if you hit it right you could catch multiple 4 pounders

If you go onto a map website such as Google Maps, you can find plenty of small ponds and brooks. That's how I found this small pond back in February 2009. If you decide to do that, open another tab so you can search on Google for the name of the pond you see on the map to make sure it's not private. Then do plenty of exploring by driving, bicycling, and walking.
