oh boy.. the adventure was today.... nice area, cloudy windy chilly day... The adventure was "how many times can Mark get snagged?" Lots of trees on the bank in this area and lots of trees/brush underwater along the banks. Amazingly though, for the amount of times I got caught up I didn't lose a single lure! Even with the 6lb test I use, thinking, "oh boy...again....looks like this time it's gonna break" and it gets undone...my hooks bent. I use a simple rapala knot for everything.. Now, you're wondering about how many fish I caught? None...not even a hit, nibble, strike...nuthin'... I was there for about 2 hours... I was using mainly inline spinners, white with silver blade and black with perch colored blade. I also threw a 3/8 ounce ratller and a black and yellow curly tail road runner spinner. Maybe if it was 70 and sunny it would have been better.. it was 48 and windy and chilly.

That section of the Farmington River is closed to fishing until Opening Day, Mark! Unless otherwise indicated in the Rivers & Streams listings of the 2012 Connecticut Angler's Guide, rivers & streams are open from 6:00 a.m. on the 3rd Saturday in April through the last day of February (closed to all fishing from March 1st to 6:00 a.m. on the 3rd Saturday in April). Unfortunately, the listing for the LOWER FARMINGTON RIVER (Farmington to Windsor, from Route 177 bridge in Unionville Center downstream to Rainbow Reservoir Dam) doesn't otherwise indicate that it's open to fishing. Oops!
I'm not judging you. :) Been there, done that, too.

From Rt 177 bridge in unionville (End of TMA) down to rainbow damn is closed. Rainbow damn to CT river is open. If I remember correctly.
