Fished the incoming and Slack this AM -
For the last couple of trips I've been catching shad. It has been getting easier this trip it was pretty quick. The size 6 sabiki with a chatreuse 3/8 jig and twister has been deadly at sunrise. I've also found if fishing braid a lighter action rod makes landing them easier - hooks pull less...
Now to the bass report: Tried a "spot" that looked super fishy - Once the t ide started moving the bite was on, but not on shad, eels were the ticket in bright sun at 11:00am 4 Bass 28", 34" and a pair at 44" - the 44's would not revive and I had to box them and end my day - I left them hitting. I was catching them in 45' of water 20 yds in front of a very pronouced rip line. Drift speed when I left was 2.4 MPH. I was all alone...
No Blues at all - not one cigar...
Tons of small bait in the harbor mouth.
