Batterson Park Pond

Well, just found out my company is moving warehouses from Wallingford to Newington. A long drive for me and my Silverado at 4:00AM, but I'm not the one footing for the rent, so go where it's cheap, no? That said, if I'm going to be up there, why not bring the little boat to work? The only place I found that looks like it would be worth my time is Batterson Park Pond. I've never fished there, but did read up on the CTFT archives. PECo looks like he's spent too much time there.. as if there is such a thing when you're floating on the water. A. Is it still a low water level or is it back to normal? On that same topic, is Beseck back to normal yet? B. Is this paying to launch from Wethersfield Cove thing legit? I've never bothered to put my little Bass Pelican into the river, but if I'm driving all the way up to Newington everyday I might as well. C. How dare my company move further from my house when gas is this expensive?! Why didn't they consult me first? D. Any other places within a stones throw of Newington that would be worth my time?

Seeing that I can hit up Silver Lake in Meriden on the way home too. This move might not be so bad after all, until it snows that is.

Beseck water level is still really low as of Monday night. Caught some really nice fish there within the past week...5-0, 3-9, 3-7, 3-2, etc. Silver also has been producing some bass for me in the 2lb range. The weeds are coming in nicely at both places. I live in the general area; hate to say it but Batterson is probably your best bet. I won't pay to launch in the cove.
