CT River great Island & Hamburg Cove
Message:
We launched at the Baldwin Bridge ramp at 1:30pm in the CT River and fished around Great Island (notta) and than motored up to Hamburg Cove to finish out the day. Water temp was around 60 degrees in the cove, cloudy SW 10-15 wind. In about 5 hours and 1,000 casts with topwaters, sluggos and bunker chunk combined, we stuck 2 stripers in the cove on a couple topwater custom lures I made, walk the dog motion triggered the 2 fish to hit, and one nice catfish on a bunker chunk. A good day fishing :) We must of just missed PeCO in the cove, he's another member of this forum. It definitely was a good trip - gonna enjoy Striper on the grill tonight for sure. It sure was amazing we couldn't catch anything but a catfish on the bunker chunk. For some reason, the stripers were only interested in moving lures yesterday on top.

Nice fish! So that's what I have to do, huh? Just cast and retrieve [b:2c7f7dcffc][i:2c7f7dcffc]A LOT[/i:2c7f7dcffc][/b:2c7f7dcffc]! I heard them splashing around occasionally all day, but didn't really know what to do to get them. Did you catch the incoming tide?
