My dad and I hit the turn of the tide Thursday evening for about 2 hours at the Milford Audubon. Many others were already out there with most of them being fly fishermen. I stuck with my usual producer, the 9cm Rapala Shallow Shad Rap while my dad tried throwing a yellow bucktail and a Storm Shad. I beat the skunk and had 4 other hits while my dad only had 1 hit on the bucktail. Fly fishermen were doing the best and heard them talking a lot about chartreuse lures. Also saw 2 fishermen using a FinS no bigger than 3" that was producing. My striper was only 11" and others that were being landed were no bigger than aprox 17". The biggest one I saw landed was a chubby 17"er with most others being dinks. One other lure I tried was a 10cm silver Rapala Flat Rap but had no hits. A pattern I saw was a slow retrieve with some jerking motion closer to the bottom. Fish seemed to be near drop offs and deep channels. My dad said the water temp felt only 50.
