in the market for canoe or kayak suggestions

Hey guys im in the market for a canoe or kayak to do some back water fishing. What do you guys recomend or perfer? I personally would like a 10ft light weight canoe but would settle for a kayak. I have never kayaked either. Let me here suggestions
