Pequonnock River Bpt
Message:
Fished the Pequonnock River at Beardsley Park after just 1 bass at Bunnells Pond. In the calmer shallow area I didn't get into any bass, perch, or rock bass but had bluegills tapping the Original Floater on the surface. After a while of no luck upriver, I found out the pattern from another fisherman. Switched over to a 7cm brown trout Original Floater and within a few casts had 3 nice swipes. After nothing else, I started digging for worms and let them drift like others were doing. Had a few of those tap taps with line twitching and caught a 9" brown and 2 dinky bluegills. Also lost 1. Hit the road around 7:30pm A pattern I noticed with the trout, as for lures, was they are looking for something small with the colors being brown, copper, gold, and certain yellows and oranges. Bait would be drifting worms, mealies, corn, Power Bait, or letting a small minnow swim around.

Try an inline spinnerbait with black feathers, like a Worden's Rooster Tail. Cheaper is better, well, at least for me, because I seem to lose a lot of them. But they work until I do.
