5 6 12 Lake Hous

Hit Lake Hous solo this morning for some bass fishing. This lake constantly kicks my butt but it's local so I keep heading back for more. I started out with a white spinnerbait but nada so switched to a craw colored tube. I had something hit and miss and hit again HARD! It felt real heavy but kept coming to ward the boat then it happened, it figured out it was hooked and didn't like it at all. Drag started to scream, had me all over the bow of the boat going every which way and the POP! Figuring it was a pike that chewed through the line. Oh well, never bring a knife to a gun fight. Tied on another tube and went back to casting. Picked up a 12" LM a few minutes later and thought maybe I was on to a pattern. Not really...no bites for the next 45 minutes so I switched to the spinnerbait= nothing; jig&pig=nothing. After about 1.5hrs without a bite I went back to the same area and started throwing the tube again and fish on. This was the result... Decided to call it a day when the wind started to pick up a bit and I was off the water aroundnoon. All fish were caught on a craw colored tube shallow, probably in 3-5 fow. Water temps were a pretty consistent 56 degrees on the different parts of the lake. Only one spot hit 57.

I don't live far from there and fish it occasionally. It can be tough but can produce some nice fish.
