What reel to put on a 5'10 Ugly Stik?
Message:
I found an Ugly Stik in my house that I use to use a long time ago for Bass and I'd like to start using it again but I feel that the reel I have on it doesn't fit it too well. It kind of weighs the rod down. I was wondering if anyone can give me suggestions as to what kind of after-market reel I can put on it but something that isn't going to break the bank. I'll be using it strictly for fishing lakes for bass and what not. I'm pretty sure that this is the reel I put on it which I purchased at Walmart a while back: http://www.ebay.com/itm/SPIDER-TARANTULA-STSP2200-/270969227960

I guess my real question is, how do you determine what size and other details to look for for this rod? I plan on using 8 pound test which I'm assuming is good for a Bass pole?
