Pequonnock River Bpt 6/5
Message:
After getting stuff done in the later morning and early afternoon, hit the Pequonnock like I did that other time.
Starting around 3pm I played around with a 6cm glass minnow Husky Jerk. Many redbreasts, bluegills, and a few dinky yellows following. Yellows eventually turn back and redbreasts and bluegills nip it but don't set the hook.
Tried playing with a few panfish soft plastics and the maribu. 3 that had the fish going were the maribu, a 1" pink tube, and 1" brown crayfish. They'd grab the tail end and then spit it.
As I moved downstream, I hit a rock bass with the Husky Jerk.
Quick stop at the crappie spot at Bunnells Pond produced a rock bass and bluegill.
Ended up waiting out a heavy downpour inside Duchess. Once the rain had ended, I went to the Wonderland of Ice. Saw the water had turned very muddy and garbage coming from Beardsley Park was in the water.
Hit Glenwood Park and caught a redbreast and dinky white perch with the Husky Jerk. Saw 3 carp swimming around.
Did some jigging and twitching with a weightless bubblegum pink GULP Live Worm and hit 3 dinky crappie and 2 rock bass. 1 of the rock bass was a nice 8"er and its color was dark.
Hit the road around 8:15pm

Bridgeporters these days are pigs at Beardsley Park. Not the beautiful place it was when my dad's parents were growing up right near there.
