Is it Spawning Time for Squirrels?
Message:
Sorry to get off of the fishing topic, but for a while now outside of my condo, I've been listening and watching 3 squirrels. 2 are fighting and chasing each other while 1 stays put most of the time. Does this mean breeding time for grey squirrels?

Squirrels don't spawn...that refers to what aquatic animals do. Here's some info on squirrels... [quote:70417ff51f]Female squirrels can mate only twice a year, but males can mate at any time. Often, severalmales will attempt to mate with the same female. They try to attract her attention by slapping the bark of trees with their paws and chattering loudly. After the mating the males play no part in the rearing of the young.[/quote:70417ff51f] http://wonderclub.com/Wildlife/mammals/greysquirrel.html
