Seaside Park Fluke 6/13
Message:
Hit Seaside Park starting around 3pm. First stop was the Remington discharge.
Lures I played around with included 9cm shad Shallow Shad Rap, 9cm chrome Skitter Pop, 9cm purple ghost X-Rap Walk, 13cm purple ghost Max Rap, 10cm original pearl shad Flat Rap, and 10cm olive green X-Rap.
Had no luck with all lures and couldn't do any casting out towards where I got that blue last time cause somebody was chunking in that area.
Later I moved on to the cannon. After casting for a while, conditions started to get wet. Had a thick heavy mist, but I still fished through it.
As I was fishing through that wet mist, I hit a sea robin with the Shallow Shad Rap. About 10 casts later I caught my first fluke of the year, which was a 17" shoreline keeper. Kept on casting out with the Shallow Shad Rap and hit another fluke which measured 18.5".
As the tide got higher, things slowed down. I did get 2 hits. One felt like a fluke and the other felt like a nice striper. 2 other fluke followed the Shallow Shad Rap.
The thick mist stopped around 6:30pm as the wind stayed at a steady 5 to 10 mph east and northeast .
Hit the road just before 7:30pm.
The chunker at Remington wasn't getting any hits while I was there. Another fisherman came to the cannon while I was there and he wasn't getting any hits or followers with a Kastmaster and Storm Shad.

Fluke on an eel? Dang.
I can't wait for the Fluke bite to pick up around here so I could fish for Fluke with live mummies I trap and keep alive in a bait bucket at my house.
