My son and I hit highland today. Bass bite was a little slow do to a cold front. But the pick's were crazy. We caught them in 6 to 10FT using shallow cranks that just skimmed the weeds. Finally found some bass towards the end of the day pitching docks. I nailed a 22" LMB guesstimated 6 Lbs. Caught on a 5" hollow belly swimbait shad color. That's a nice bass id say it was more likely in the 5 pound range but I don't know. I only say this because a 5.4 pounder I caught a few weeks back was 21-22 inches long. Now my scale is off but everyone thought it was more like a 5er. Nice fishing though. I too nailed a really fat 19 incher yesterday on a paddle tail swimbait. The swimbaits are good this time of year.

Definitely a nice fish, probably closer to 5lbs with the empty stomach. If she ate a few sunfish before you caught her, you would have had your 6 pounder with that length of 22".
