Night/Heat fishing
Message:
Went fishing last night near my house (yes seadog this is for you). I got a hit on my Sparo white frog on the second cast, a LMB about 1.5lb. Then the next few hours were horrible. It was insanely hot and there were Jurassic Park size mosquitoes out. I think I used half a can of OFF and was still giving blood. I went an hour with nothing more. At around 8:15 I got a hit on my black 2”(?) jitter bug. The fish seemed big so I set the hook. Next thing I knew there was a flying fish! I found the fish, revived it back to health and watched it swim away in the water. I guess it wasn't so big, heh. In between these two fish I did not get anything but a few small bites. I am guessing these bites were just sunfish/crappie. I fished green worms, white and dark spinners, black jitterbugs, baby bass super flukes and black/white frogs. Did anyone brave the heat and get anything good yesterday?

Hi,
Yes! .... I fish mostly at night !
Not last night -> Too darn hot.
But yeah.....The sketters have been terrible this year! ..and big too!
Much cooler fishing at night and I find more productive.
The sound/splashes those big Browns make feeding at night does get your attention ! :o

I was up at bigelow yesterday... only caugh 2 pickerels and 1 small bass... lots of activity though between sunfish swimming around the shores and some jumping in the middle of the lake. It wasn't as hot up at bigelow though, maybe the amount of trees and shade they provide?
