bashan 8-17

after yesterdays good trip to bashan i decided to hit it up again after work in search of some deep smallies. this year ive only caught 5 smallies from there while ive got a ton of largmouth. i think that it is kinda funny especailly since bashan is known as a smallie lake. i got on the water around 5 picked up a few large mouth in 12 fow and then went to a dropoff arond 25 fow for the smallies. i made 4 casts when i started to hear a buzzing. it sounded like radio static. it was intermitent. ide hear it then it was gone....finally i found the source it was coming from my rod if i kept my rod tip high i could hear it but when i was lowering it the sound was gone. needless i hightailed it out of there. i didnt get a chance to get a smallie but at least i made it home safe and i will get another chance fish it.

Wow Dave, sounds kinda spooky about the buzzing noise. I think I would have high-tailed out of there too!

Sounds like some static going on there, which is usually followed by lightning. Good job on the retreat!!!
