Salmon River 6/26
Message:
Hit up the Salmon River in Colchester with 2 of my buddies today. It was the worst it has ever been. This was my first time going there since the week after opening day. I caught 10 trout that day and that was an awesome trip. This time I caught 1 sunfish in the 6 hours I was there. I never knew there was sunfish in there and I hate those things. My friend caught 2 rainbow trout about 13' each as well as 2 salmon and 1 sunfish. My other friend caught 1 salmon and 1 sunfish. When I go to the Salmon, I want trout, not sunfish or salmon. In my opinion, this place is done until the next stocking in fall. Anyone have luck there recently?

I ve never caught a salmon. Are they fun to catch? Are the ones in ct a decent size?

There are only juvenile Salmon in the Salmon River. They are not fun to catch amd only get in the way of trout. The biggest I have caught there was about 5' and they put up about as good a fight as a goldfish. Whenever the trout aren't biting, the salmon usually are.
