Short Beach 7/5
Message:
Chris and I hit Short Beach on the outgoing and dead low. We got into the water around 6pm and fished til sunset.
Chris stuck with topwaters and a Jimmy's swimmer. I played around with the SSR-9, FLR-10, and SP-9.
Both of us had no luck.
2 fishermen were throwing fluke rigs rigged with bunker and rinds. They were hitting fluke and sea robins pretty well. They'd cast out not too far and then let the current drag it before carefully and slowly reeling upstream. Saw one of them with 3 16" and bigger and the rest he threw back.
Towards sunset I smelled the bunker making their way through but no fish.
2 chunkers were throwing tape worms way out. They were getting hits and 1 had his mono snap while pulling a fish on shore.

I was just there this morning......not much action either. Fished the low and incoming tide with only sea robbins to show for it. There were a couple of other guys there and they weren't having any luck.
The sea robbins are out in full force lately, it's insane.
