So after I read Peco's report of his night on Batterson I just had to get out there and try to get another keeper walleye. So two of my friends and I got on the water yesterday night around 9:30. All of us started off trolling the same shad raps except mine was perch colored and the other two were silver. We paddled up the east shoreline and it only took about 10 minutes for me to land my first fish which was a white perch about 10 inches long. About 5 minutes later I heard a yell from one of my friends who was ahead of me saying he got himself a white perch. Just after he yelled to me I got a hit in the same spot where I caught my first ever walleye which was 21 inches. I picked up my rod and it felt like I just had a big clump of weeds so I started slowly pulling it in. I brought it to the boat and turned my head lamp on. I was amazed when I looked down and saw yet another walleye caught from the same spot. Another keeper too......measuring 19 inches and 1 pound 12 ounces..... [img:e228ddf6e3]https://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc6/252764_455900321094976_798177034_n.jpg[/img:e228ddf6e3] This one must have known he was going to end up in my kayak because he saved his whole fight for then! :P I landed another white perch shortly after that but then things started to slow down. I did end up picking up a 7 inch rockbass in the Northeast corner of the pond and then a 12 inch large mouth on my way back to the ramp in the same spot where I caught the walleye. The only thing my other friend got was a little sunfish. We ended up getting off the water somewhere around 11............. I strongly believe now that the fish in Batterson deffinately do love the perch colored pattern more than anything else because for the past three trips I have out fished both of my friends by a huge margin.
