Penfield Reef Lighthouse

Heading out to Penfield Reef lighthouse area tonight. Taking a couple of others out with me for their first time fishing in saltwater. Wish us luck! Need something other than sea robins though I am sure they'll be happy with anything.

Didn't go out to the reef as when I got into the sound at around 8pm the water was very rough with 4 foot waves. I didn't want to travel all that way in the dark with two new people to the boat so we anchored behind the breakwater. Caught one large blue right off the bat which naturally broke the line as soon as we went to net it then hit sea robins the rest of the time. The water was getting very tough so I pulled up and headed back into the housatonic almost getting smashed against the break water on the way in. Not a good night. We anchored up near Brewers marina around 9:45pm and the second our chunk bait hit the water we'd get a sea robin. Hit sea robins consistently until we pulled up and headed back around 11:30pm or so.
