Hey guys,
I've recently moved to Greenwich, CT, and have been taken away from all my usual fishing haunts. Been too busy really to go fishing as well, but I'm trying to clear some time from my schedule for it.
Anybody know of any spots down around the greenwich area? Willing to travel about half an hour. I have no boat and like fishing from the shore. I'd rather fish smaller places that are quiet.
Really, if anybody knows where the smallies hide down here, or (if I could be so lucky) the pike, I would love hearing from you.
Thanks! _________________ Golf Bravo Romeo - Where there's always a crosswind, but nobody will tell you. |

Hi Guys!
Greenwich and Stamford?
Not much there!
You'll have to check the Ct. Angler's Guide for waters closest to you which will be most likely further north of your location.

I would just head north to Candlewood. Can't beat that plus for smallies.

Hi Cartman!
NO! Camping is not allowed at Candlewood!
For camping and other Ct. outdoor recreational info -> Google up (Ct. DEP)
OR -> search the Internet for any information you need, It's easy!

There's one place on Riverdale (Riverside? River something... the north road out of greenwich to Armonk) that looks promising, but I can take a wild guess I'd get yelled at for trying to fish it. But Fall is upon us soon, and hopefully I can get up to do some fishing on the Hous up by the old locale soon.
I will post back if I find anywhere, but it's all so private here I'm worried to just throw my line in. Back home, someone would just ask what we were doing, down here I'm afraid I'd get arrested for trespassing.

gonna try putnam lake tomorrow and I guess gonna go to candlewood sometimes during the week. I need a place where you can fish and maybe camp over night, not too far away.
P.S. There is Toll Gate Pond here in Greenwich, but its all green now (not sure how to explain, I'm foreign) Wonder if you can clean it |

Any way you could get a canoe or a kayak? Then you won't be restricted to just shore spots. Once you're able to get around a lake you'll hardly ever go back to shore fishing.

I actually think that Tollgate might be the place I'm thinking of. It's all covered with algae right now, but that's fine, the bass can't see you I might have to pull in there some night and see what comes up. Drop me a PM if you might be interested in joining some night. _________________ Golf Bravo Romeo - Where there's always a crosswind, but nobody will tell you. |
