I am thinking of heading out to Black Pond in Woodstock CT. Have any of you fished there? Do you recommend it?

I was tossing around a trip out there too.

I did find this sample chapter from a CT DEP book that has a depth chart:

http://www.ct.gov/dep/lib/dep/fishing/general_information/book.pdf

Hope that helps. If you go, let me know how you make out.

it is in the middle of no where so I would think pressure would be limited. However, I haven't heard much about it.

Thanks for that link, it is pretty informative. Im still debating as it would probably take about an hour plus to get there. I like how it there isn't a lot of housing on it and it is very secluded which appeals to me. Fishing is my form of meditation/hiking so the more secluded the better.

I am also considering just staying local and hitting keaney cove and pickerall lake. Not sure, feed back is appreciated.

Shorty if I go I will definitely give you details. Thanks again for the info.

iv'e never fished black pond, but if you don't have any luck there, you can always try mashapaug lake.it's just a little ways from black pond and ive had some good size large mouths there and some fairly decent smallies.it's a nice deep clear water reservoir.
