Bass addict, I wouldn't bother to wrap it.

In Bryon's current condition, I think it will be too much work for him to have to unwrap all the individual matchbox cars. I'm not wrapping mine. I have a better idea, I'll have a big cardboard box with wrapping paper on it, we'll put all the cars and toys in there, so he only has to unwrap 1 big box.

Justin,

It's been awhile. I've been thinking of the little guy. How is he doing?

Stratos17,

Thanks for asking, Bryon's doing ok, he finally went home 2 weeks ago, and his parents are adjusting to life again, with new challenges at home. But I hear all is going as good as can be expected, hopefully his brain will repair itself over the next couple years, and he can get back to a semi normal life as he gets older.

Greeny's recent post has made me think about little Bryon, and I feel bad that I haven't kept you guys and gals up to date. I think the reason is that he has not made much progress, so there is not much to tell. He has been in and out of the Children's Hospital many times over the past 10 months. Every time he spikes a fever of 100 or higher they rush him, something to do with the shunt clogging as I remember. A couple times it was just a cold thank GOD. The doctors have said he probably will not ever really speak or walk on his own again. But you can never ever give up hope. The brain is such an unexplored organ of the human body, that he could some day all of a sudden stand up and walk, or start saying words. Other than his physical and mental limitations he is doing ok.

His mom is a runner, so he gets out with her quite a bit to run in his own 3 wheeled stroller, and loves when she runs fast. He went with us to see Thomas the train in Essex in November. He got his picture taken with Sir Toppam Hat, and loved the train ride. That's all I have for now, hopefully the next time I have some good news about defying the odds and proving the doctors wrong.

All we can do is pray at this point, because he is probably as good as he's ever going to get. Sad
