Anyone have a suggestion or 2 on location or bait for some catfish from shore. I just wanna chill and drown some bait. I've try'd rocky hill boat launch and middletown (harbor yards) seems like too much current? need a deep slow channel or something any ideas?

Catfish rely on their sense of smell to find bait and feel the bottom with their whiskers.

Small mackerel chunks, raw shrimp left in the fridge for a while, hot dog pieces, and small pieces of white chicken marinaded with herbs, garlic, and olive oil are baits to consider.

Did you fish the Rocky Hill or Glastonbury side? The Glastonbury side will produce both above and below the ferry ramp. Wethersfield Cove channel holds 'em and is easy shore access.

Outside wethersfield cove in front of the channel marker. Herring and eel chunks are my favorite.
