Since I'm not one to get out there on the ice, I always find myself planning out new ways to organize or use my tackle this year and what new things I might need/want for another season of open water fishing.

I stumbled upon this article online http://www.fieldandstream.com/photos/gallery/fishing/bass-fishing/2011/05/diy-do-it-yourself-fishing-gear-modifications-tricks-tip . I particularly like #4 about short strikes. It makes a lot of sense to me and I'm thinking I'll have to try that one out.

I always seem to find these type of Macgyver-esque ideas when fishing with new people. Does anyone else have any DIY/Homeade techniques or creations that they tend to use that you wouldn't mind sharing?
