One of my favorite places to catch trout is the Farmington River all of the way up by the Dam in Heartland, Ct. I have pulled some nice 14"-20" Rainbows and browns out of there but have still yet to land a monster (though I lost one that would have been a wall hanger). Any one else fish there, have any tips for the area.

Great river for trout fishing. Definately give Riverton and Barkhampstead areas a few casts if you have the opportunity.

However on Opening Day, anglers are shoulder to shoulder and the fish have no chance getting through the gauntlet of hooks.
