I had my first opportunity to attend a baseball game at Fenway Park after I won a Red Cross sweepstakes to be the Blood Donor of the Game for a Boston Red Sox game. I got two tickets to see the game between the Baltimore Orioles and the Red Sox on Wednesday. DirtyDawg10 (aka Derek) and I drove out to Boston, and we got to go out onto the field before the game, where I was introduced to the crowd as the Blood Donor of the Game. In case you're wondering what that was like, here's a video that I put together:

The weather was perfect, despite the questionable forecast. The Red Sox didn't just provide us with seats; they provided us with terrific seats behind home plate on the first base side. The Red Sox fans whom we met were all pretty awesome, too, even though I wore my Chicago White Sox cap to the game. I had an absolute blast. Very Happy

My son DVRed the game for me. I took a quick look at the broadcast and neither Derek nor I were anywhere to be seen.

That's awesome Phil. My company has corporate seats right behind the first base dugout. Every so often I get to head up there and enjoy some Fenway food and a game. Glad you had some fun!

Very cool Phil, being a Masshole I've been to a half million Sox games. I still love going, best place to go and see a ball game. The area around Fenway is a blast, glad you and Derek had a good day weather wise to. GO SOXXXXXX!!

Hi Phil,

Was wondering if you wore your "White Sox" ball cap !

At least he did go shopping in the official Red Sox souvenir shop after the game. He got a fitted White Sox hat Wink

The Red Sox ambassador was having a hard time...they did not want him being introduced with his White Sox hat on.

Here's the other thing we saw on our way up to Boston on Wednesday

Notice the future beach trophy 126 in the back. We were thinking it may have been a fellow CT Fish Talker since we were on RT 84 in CT when we saw it Very Happy
