Im going to check out Keeney Cove later today, first time.

My plan is to park on point road and set out from foot to fish from shore and walk all around the place

Should I head up towards rt 3 or down to the river? Will only have from around 4 pm to dark to check this place out today - wondering which direction to explore?

I have no idea what the ground around Keeney Cove would be like, right now (e.g., it might be extremely mucky), but I think the middle and upper parts of the cove are way more interesting than the lower part of the cove.

im strapping on my big boots today just in case of the muck!

Ill hike around the middle and upper today and save the lower out into the river for when I get out onto the pontoon boat

What should I be throwing and what should I expect to be reeling in?

anything edible or is it best to avoid eating anything from that cove?

Usually you can walk pretty easily around the East side of the middle cove. There are also some good spots on the West side. I have never ventured on foot to the upper cove but I think you will have to cross over Rt3 to get there or swim the culvert.

If I was you I wouldn't eat anything that came out of there but some people do.
