I will check them out. I usually don't fish when I go with him because he is still so young and always needs my help. I couldn't resist when I saw that fatty though. I bet a bg swim bait would kill it there.

LOL!!! Awesome looking fish Bass Addict and great job getting the little guy out. What you should have done after hooking the bass was to let the little guy reel her in, probably would have felt like a cow striper for him. Very Happy

I know, i know, SJ, I was so excited and worried about loosing it that I got greedy. When I catch a fish like that it is not uncommon for me to act like a 2 year old. Laughing

He was happy just to see a bass that big, but it would have been cool if he reeled her in or if he caught it on his new UL combo.

Hey no worries Justin, I'm the same way when I get lucky enough to hook a lunker. Besides it was a great way to start out the new season. Very Happy

You and I think alike Flippy. The Tru-Tungsten bluegill is sick. The 7". I've caught my 4 best LMB on it.

Great catch, Justin. I can't wait until next year when my twins are 3. I'll have them on the boat this year and show them fish, but I'm thinking they won't exactly be able to do much other than watch at this point.

awesome phish, twins boys has got to be a lot of fun (as well as work). I bought my son Daiwa triforce rod with a silver cast 80 push button reel when he was 2. He got pretty good with casting with the my guidance. He can cast pretty good from a boat or in open areas on shore but still needs help now and then. I would definitely recommend that setup (rod was $20, reel was $25) for the little guys. Stay away from the diago/lightening mcqueen stuff as it is junk and will leave your kids frustrated.

I help him cast out the old bobber/worm and he would do the rest. Of course with 2 you will need the wifey to help but what better way to spend the weekend as a family. Good luck and take some pix when you get out there.

here is the rod

reel

both can be purchased at ct outfitters. Gary and Trevor hooked me up and turned me on to that combo. I use it myself all the time when I go fishing without him. Laughing

Thanks, Justin. It may be worth trying it with them one at a time. They're a handful together! Definitely appreciate the setup advice. I'm sure I was going to head straight for the spider-man rig. Laughing

NICE BASS!!! Bet the lil man was excited! I was so inspired I decided to take a few casts at the local pond nearby. But instead of waiting for my son to get out of school like I usually would I thought "ehh a couple of casts just to see if anything is hitting" and if there is we'll come back and fish later. To my surprise I landed a nice FAT JR. PIG he was 23" and a big ole belly @ 4+ lbs. He slammed my 6" sluggo. Had to post this one because like you I haven't caught a nice bass like this since last year and now I'm itching to get in the CT River for the real monsters. I recon we'll be fishing around picnic tables and gaurd shacks for some time til the water level drops! HAPPY FISHING!!!<br>
