fished the ebb tide from 40' to 80' of water mostly 18" fish,bot was able to manage only 5 keepers all 20" fish between the two of us,plus an assortment of blue fish that destroyed our fluke rigs and the usual skates when the tide slacked.

You can probably tell I don't do alot of saltwater fishing but where is Isabella? What were you using for bait (sandworms)? thanks cmorjoe

It is located on the south side of Fishers Island and has been a consistant fluking spot,over the years.Located off the coast of CT just east of Niantic,but is in New York waters so their fishing regulations on fluke size and amt. apply which differs from CT regs

as for bait using whole fluke 2 hook rigs, tipped with mummy chubs or spearing

I use squid strips, and a mummy chum combo on a fluke rig

i also use squid strips and strips of bluefish,hickory shad,and whole snapper blues

Thanks for reporting

That place gets mobbed every single day, so I'm not surprised to see the numbers go down hill. On the other hand if the bait stays around that area fluke will stay too, at least let’s hope so.
