I bought the Ugly Stik Tiger 7' rod, it's a medium action surf rod which can handle 10 -50 lb line. I am wondering what would be a good reel to attach to it? I am planning on going with 20 lb mono line and fishing for stripers.

Thanks!

I found an Okuma Avenger ABF 65 on Amazon for like $48, would this be a good reel to use? I am planning on using bait to catch stripers.

I have the Okuma Epixor on my rod and it is a nice reel. It reels very smooth and I haven't had any problems with it. Some other good reels to look at would be some Penns or a Shimano, however the Shimano baitrunner can get a bit pricey.

I would suggest the Okuma Avenger.

I have one on my surf rod and love it.

The 65 series is HUGE and may be too big for that rod. I suggest the 40 series.
