Hit the Cove on Sat. afternoon with my dad, my bro-in-law, and my cousin for some white perch action. It was a little overcast and windy on and off. We spoke to a kayaker that was friendly and gave us some tips. We launched out the boats and trolled on over close to, but far enough from some other boaters and the kayaker. They were obviously onto something.

We anchored and started fishing. I got the first fish in the boat and boated 7 before anyone else. Again 1/16th oz jig head with 2 inch white grub. It started to sprinkle and the other boaters and kayaker left. We kept on fishing and caught some of the biggest white perch at the end. They measured 13-15 inches!!!

In the end the score was: Dad: 8 Bro-In-Law: 4 Cousin: 6 Me: 27
We kept a dozen of the bigger ones for a fish fry.
Hope to hit the Cove once more before the white perch leave.

Ooww! Hurry with the picture!

Nice job those fish are so fun to catch on lite gear. One of my buddys was out on Saturday. he did well he had 30 good sized ones. I think there will be at least 3 more weeks of action.

Yeah they definitely are lots of fun. I was using a 5'4" light rod with 4lb mono. Had a blast. I hope to get out once more before the end of the month. Unfortunately the next couple of weeks are booked. thumbs down
