Any chance we can get a shell fishing report forum up? I'd like to have one. The other site has one that gets some good reports on it.

I think it would thin the board out even more Justin. There is already a lot of forums that people don't use. Shell fishing should fall under saltwater imo.

Pete I go bluecrabbing all the time. It's a lot of fun! CTFisherman has one and it gets quite a bit of use during the summer. Just a thought

I vote for a Mollusk forum as well Laughing

Justin, where do you catch blue crabs? I heard in the Niantic river it is pretty good. I took my son crabbing last Sunday at Giant's Neck. We only caught red crabs (for fun, not to eat) and he had a blast. I want to get him on some BC's so we can eat them.

I go clamming and crabbing on a regular basis but I protect those spots even more then I protect my fishing spots.

I go all over the place for bluecrabs. Now that this water is warming up, the mouth of the CT River is going to get better. Some of the best places are around Rocky Neck and Point of Woods! For clamming I have a place right near Misquamiccut (sp?) in RI. One year we pulled out six 5 gallon buckets of them and ate like kings! It was great!
