Gee whiz thank god for cabelas because right now dicks sporting goods has got a whole lotta nuthin on their shelves for the hardwater enthusiasts.
Some assorted tipups, a few jigging rods (some pretty pink ones fer the ladies Very Happy ) I strolled down each aisle only to find a northland "crappie" ice kit. Other than that there are no ice lures on any shelf to speak of Sad

Yea the Canton Dicks has a pretty lousy selection of jigs. The Avon Walmart just down the road had a better selection.

Hi Dave,

We need "Gander Mountain" to open some stores here in New England.

Cabela's was born in Nebraska and mostly all about hunting.

Gander Mountain was born in Wisconsin (Great Lakes) and all about fishing.

I prefer GM over Cabela's -> Better and more diverse selection of everything.

Prices tend to be better also!

Since I'm in Winsted -> It's about equal distance for me to head to GM in Kingston, NY.

Mikey -> Try it -> You'll like it Exclamation Very Happy

Hi Jon,

YES! Would be nice if Cabela's had some real competition vs Dick's or Port Athority!

BP would be my next go to after GM.

I have checked Dicks, Cabelas and CT Outfitters, and I found that CTOs tip-ups are cheaper (example the Heritage Tip-ups with the drags are $2 cheaper at CTO. The Nils Gas Augers are very competitively price!d They have a great assortment of jigs and iff you want quality and good advice CTO can't be beat!
