while fishing a hendrickson nymph at the fly only section of the saugatuck river down in westport i caught a baby largemouth bass! I have never seen or heard of bass that far down the river. Perhaps it got washed over the damn of the reservoir idk. I'd also love to hear some other interesting catches in that section of the river, thanks! Also caught a decent size brown trout.

You think that's weird, I caught a crappie in a tributary of the salmon river, miles from even the places largemouth hang out! I was very surprised.

I've been catching nothing but dais in all the little trout brooks around my town. 2 years ago they were nowhere to be found, but since they've shown up fishing for everything else has slowed way down. I caught one small brown and a dozen of those dais on a brook I normally limit out on in a couple hours.

I'd be killing those things to use for bait. They destroy perfectly good trout populations.
