Lake Wateree, SC
Water Temp 71

Hi Everyone! The fishing has finally started to pick up here in SC. It FINALLY rained here last Thursday and Friday for the 1st time in 3 months! The drought has been tough on all the trees and wildlife. Lake Wateree is a 13,000 acre lake when full. It is about 10ft down right now. That's better than TN lakes that are 30+FT! down.

I have never seen so much bait in a lake before. Thousands of shad in the backs of coves right now. Hard to convince the largemouths to take your bait instead of the real thing. My son and I fished all day Saturday and didn't have much luck on the bass and changed to cats for a while. Caught a white perch and cut it up for bait. Didn't take long to get this nice cat.

Then decided to throw some rattletraps for a while and I picked up this nice Striper. Pulled like it was 30lbs!

I do miss the CT fishing..I miss the T's that we used to have. Take care everyone and I'll try to post more soon.
