Hey guys,

Next week I'm going to North Winthrop Maine for two tourneys.

There will be on Lake Cobboseecontee & Maranacook.

Any pointers on these bodies of water would be helpful. I purchased maps.

Hey guys,

The trip went well. What an awesome lake. I wish I could have brought it back with me.

The lake was very long but not so wide. Litely stained, big rocks. and many islands.

Speed limit NONE... It stated, drive at a safe speed to control your boat. WOW.

Guys where doing 70+, I was fine with doing 50ish..

The LMB bite was good around the shore line, typical bite, line just got heavy.

However the SMB were animals... When you hooked into one you thought you had to have a 5 or 6lber, but nope just a 1.5lbr. Awesome fighters.

When you did catch a 4+, hang on for the fight of your life.. Unreal...!

During pratice days I caught 5lb LMB, 4lb+SMB, 3lb SMB and many 2lb SMB.

This lake fished unlike the lakes back here, very little fish on structure or under docks, most where in 15 to 25FOW. So drop shotting was the way to go.

During the Tourney I caught a 3.5lb LMB on a swim bait on structure on the shore line, the rest where SMB all caught on a drop shot.. My total bag ended up being 12.5. I ended up #7 in the club and #12 over all members. (I think)

This was Team Skeeter VS SCBM and we won...

I was very happy with my results.

Note to self, bring an extra live well pump when traveling out of state. It can be very costly and tough to get one.

I staied at Lakeside Lodging, if you ever want to try to fish this lake, this is a good place to stay. Each cabin or room has a slip with power for the boat.
