went crabbing
only had to release 3 females
had 6 or so shorts
30 keepers5"-7"
3hrs. on the incoming
bunker for bait
1st time out crabbin' this yr so far
kinda disappointed in the # of females
l never keep them, but think this was the least l've ever released
have a safe labor day

Did you release the females because they were visibly carrying eggs (i.e., egg bearing)? I understand that you used bunker for bait, but what method did you use?

never keep any females
a personal thing
kinda like c&r fishing
method was 3 strings in some current and a net
pretty basic, current seems to be the key
they hold on, incoming usually better in my opinion
l think the conditions were optimum for whatever reason
in my 25+ yrs of crabbin' don't remember a better haul
might have had something to do with last yrs bait population?
can't be the amount of bait this year @ the mouth
seems significantly less so far, to me anyway
on a side note, to bad about the outflow
although it might make better fishermen out of some
